Creating a sequential pattern with two 555 timers in the breadboard design or a dual 556 timer in the veroboard design.

The second 555 timer add it's own unique pattern to the output waveform, but only when the first timer's output is at a low.

Various parts of the waveform may be calculated mathematically, for example the frequency of the waveform, the duty cycle of the waveform, the period of the waveform, the time that the output is high, the time that the output is low.

A power supply with the capability of producing 12 volt at 3 ampere is necessary to drive the Hodson Light Box. The custom-built power supply depicted in the photograph provide alternating current.

The Hodson Light Box produce numerous optical patterns and beams of light, made visible to the human eye through various lenses, mirrors and colour panels.

Perform thirty experiments in optics ranging from reflection (single beam, mirror, mirror-parallax, concave, convex, curvature, aberration, parabolic), refraction (block, double), colour (dispersion, absorption, filters, spectra, addition), light beam (parallel, convergent, divergent, lateral inversion, vertical inversion), lenses (bi-convex, bi-concave, focal line, focal plane, radius of curvature).

The Hodson Light Box is designed and manufactured in Australia by Industrial Equipment and Control Pty Ltd and distributed by Scientrific Pty Ltd.

Velleman®-Kit Temperature Sensor K6001

A need arise to effectively control the temperature of an oven, thus, the on and off time of the oven element need to be controlled in an intelligent way. By implementing hysteresis in the decision circuitry an oven element may be controlled in an intelligent way.

The Velleman®-Kit Temperature Controller K6002 provide a clock function with timing derived from 50Hz mains frequency, microprocessor controlled, built-in hysteresis, buzzer outputs, a high temperature setting and low temperature setting. The Velleman®-Kit Temperature Sensor K6001 is an effective and accurate sensor and together with the Velleman®-Kit Temperature Controller K6002 form a reliable option.

The Velleman®-Kit Temperature Controller K6002 may be improved by saving the temperature and clock settings, thus, no need arise to set the temperature and clock settings again when power is applied.

Both Velleman®-Kit Temperature Controller K6002 and Velleman®-Kit Temperature Sensor K6001 need separate power supplies.
