What is the Seismo-Quake® Temperature Control ?

Seismo-QuakeŽ Temperature Control add to the fun factor in electronics and the design thereof with the subject of a temperature sensor, a sensor and control circuit with intelligent decision capability and a means of creating a flow of air. Establish electrical power to your Seismo-QuakeŽ Temperature Control, set the control temperature and your Seismo-QuakeŽ Temperature Control will automatically control the movement of air surrounding an object as it attempt to keep the ambient temperature constant !

Architecture

Seismo-QuakeŽ Temperature Control consist of a pre-assembled printed circuit board (PCB) with the Seismo-QuakeŽ Sensor Board forming the heart of the Seismo-QuakeŽ Temperature Control circuitry. The input consist of an external temperature sensor measuring the ambient temperature in degrees Celsius. The Seismo-QuakeŽ Sensor Board form the process circuit and determine at which point in temperature the output is switched on or off.

Key Features - Technical

Electrically safe to use with no alternating current (AC) mains connection.

Power source is a 9 Volt (or PP3) battery (not included).

Input and output reverse polarity protection build in on the printed circuit board (PCB) of the Seismo-QuakeŽ Sensor Board.

No voltage regulation applied on the Seismo-QuakeŽ Sensor Board.

Safe maximum supply voltage of 16VDC for the Seismo-QuakeŽ Sensor Board.

In standby mode Seismo-QuakeŽ Sensor Board achieve in the region of 7.5mADC.

Functional operating ambient temperature of 0ºC to +70ºC for the Seismo-QuakeŽ Sensor Board.

Applications

Seismo-QuakeŽ Temperature Control provide an excellent foundation to gain further understanding in the field of electronics and electronic components.

Seismo-QuakeŽ Temperature Control may be implemented in control circuitry with different sensors to choose from, thermistor with a positive temperature coefficient (PTC), thermistor with a negative temperature coefficient (NTC).

Where an external device need to be controlled and switched on and off according to a set temperature value.

Seismo-QuakeŽ Temperature Control may be used in applications where a larger current need to be switched with the aid of a relay, maybe driving a solenoid.

Provide additional expansion for hobby model enthusiasts.

Assembling

Assembling the Seismo-QuakeŽ Temperature Control, add electrical power to the intelligent decision sensor circuit and add the necessary sensor to control the temperature and add the fan as cooling mechanism.

Hints and Tips

For a more economical approach use NiMH rechargeable batteries.
