|
| What is the Seismo-Quake® Traffic Light ? |
Regulate and direct the movement of Seismo-Quake® vehicles and pedestrians ! Make use of a state-of-the-art 8-bit microcontroller and a pedestrian button mounted on a pre-assembled printed circuit board (PCB) and switch your Seismo-Quake® Traffic Lights on and off sequentially. Hook up a small 9 Volt (or PP3) battery and see your Seismo-Quake® Street illuminate with red, amber and green ! Let your Seismo-Quake® neighbourhood come alive !
|
| Architecture |
Seismo-Quake® Traffic Light consist of a pre-assembled printed circuit board (PCB) with the following main electronic components, a 555 timer implemented as an astable multivibrator (oscillator), a press button switch for a pedestrian crossing, an 8-bit Motorola microcontroller with the 555 timer providing clock pulses to the IRQ pin and coloured red, amber, green light emitting diodes (LEDs) for pedestrians and vehicles.

|
| Key Features |
Electrically safe to use with no alternating current (AC) mains connections.
Power source is a 9 Volt (or PP3) battery (not included).
Input reverse polarity protection build in.
Ease of assembly with only one small flat pointed screwdriver (not included).
Circuit is 5V 100mA regulated.
Functional operating ambient temperature 0ºC to +60ºC.
555 operating ambient temperature 0ºC to +60ºC.
8-bit Motorola microcontroller operating ambient temperature -30ºC to +75ºC.
|
| Applications |
Seismo-Quake® Traffic Light as traffic lights for your Seismo-Quake® neighbourhood.
Valuable knowledge for education in electronics. Include a 555 timer , a 8-bit Motorola microcontroller, coloured red, amber, green light emitting diodes (LEDs) and a paper booklet.
Additional expansion for train model enthusiasts.
Automatic safe traffic lighting for model cars.
Traffic lighting for model hobbyist.
|
| Assembling |
Assembling the Seismo-Quake® Traffic Light kit, attach the coloured red, amber, green light emitting diodes (LEDs) to the 'pole'. Secure the 'pole' to the board. Connect the leads of the coloured red, amber, green light emitting diodes (LEDs) to the connectors mounted on the printed circuit board (PCB). Connect the 9 Volt (or PP3) battery clip to the connector on the printed circuit board (PCB) marked IN. Remember to note the polarity. The red colour coded wire connect to +V and the black colour coded wire connect to GND. Congratulations, you have added traffic lights to your Seismo-Quake® neighbourhood !
